About the Indio River Project
The Indio River watershed is located west of the Panama Canal watershed, between the Provinces of Cocle, Panama, and Colon. The Rio Indio Project to construct a new water reservoir is expected to include, at a minimum, the construction of a large gravity RCC main dam, a spillway, outlet facilities; saddle dams; water transfer system via a tunnel (8 km.) and all structures and facilities. Estimated construction costs 1,200 M. USD.
