Dutch ship repair & maintenance company AEGIR-Marine Latin America ๐ณ๐ฑ โ๏ธ received the go-ahead for their Regional Headquarters in Panama (SEM) ๐ต๐ฆ. The Ministry of Trade & Industry (MICI) approved their SEM license end of last week.
Bart van den Hamer, Regional Director: “This license drives our business development and enables us to provide technical support to our subsidiaries worldwide, effectively addressing our clientsโ needs.”
Another Dutch maritime company that established a regional headquarters ๐๏ธ in Q1 this year is shipbuilding companyDamen ๐ณ๐ฑ. A step to strengthen their operational presence in the region and facilitate regional growth, according to LATAM Hub Manager Wilfredo Lafosse.
Finally, BTS Tech Panama (Telecom / CommTech) with headquarters in the United States ๐บ๐ธ & a strategic presence in Zaragoza, Spain ๐ช๐ธ and Nxtgen Strategic Services (Indonesian ๐ฎ๐ฉ origen) also registered their SEM entities in the first quarter of this year.

Panama’s Multnational Headquarters Regime (SEM) offers significant tax, labor, and immigration benefits to multinational companies that establish regional headquarters in Panama, serving other offices in the region (or world) with management, business development & backoffice activities. It is a major source of attracting foreign investment to & creating employment in the country, having turned Panama into the multinational HQ hub in the region. There are close to 200 registered “SEMs” in Panama today.
